Companion

An infrastructure CLI for deploying private fleets of persistent Hermes agents, memory, and shared chat.

What it helps with

Companion has changed substantially from the source description. It now describes and deploys fleets of persistent Hermes agents on Fly.io, connects them through Tailscale, routes models through OpenRouter, adds Granite memory, and can expose Open WebUI. A technical agency could reproduce an internal or client agent environment from configuration files. This is cloud infrastructure management, not a simple web/mobile UI for Claude Code and Codex, and live operations require several powerful credentials.

Best fit

Best for an experienced platform team building managed agent fleets; not for the source category's average Claude Code/Codex user.

Setup reality

Ops-heavy. It manages Fly apps/volumes/secrets, Tailscale networking, OpenRouter, API servers, memory vaults, state, and deployments.

License context

Permissive licenseBusiness use and modification are generally allowed. Keep required notices and review trademarks, dependencies, and hosted-service terms.

MIT. Commercial use and modification are permitted with notice retention; Fly.io, Tailscale, OpenRouter, and model services have separate terms and charges.
