Matomo is a broad analytics platform for website and app traffic, campaigns, events, goals, ecommerce, dashboards, and reporting. An agency can manage multiple client properties; an SMB can retain analytics data on infrastructure it controls. The breadth is useful when Umami is too simple, but it brings database sizing, archival jobs, retention, privacy settings, consent, security, backups, upgrades, and plugin governance. Matomo Cloud and paid premium features are separate from the GPL core.
